American budget airline, Delta Airlines, unexpectedly became the busiest airline in the world. This is evident from the number of passengers served last year.
Delta Airlines as the world busiest airline
International Air Transport Association issued Delta Air passenger statistics last year. With numbers nearly 116.7 million passengers in 2012, the airline received the title as the world’s busiest airline.
Delta Airlines passengers per year nearly 30 million more than other airlines in the world. Meanwhile, the Irish budget airline, Ryanair with nearly 80 million passengers can only second place.
In the third place there is Lufthansa with 50.8 million passengers per year and 44.6 million passengers with EasyJet and British Airways in fifth place with 31.3 million passengers.
Although the second place, Ryanair proudly declares that they are the most popular airline passengers. “In fact, even though the number of passengers Easyjet and British Airways combined could not equal the number of Ryanair passengers,” Ryanair spokesman said, as quoted by the Telegraph.
“Proven passengers are very happy with the cheap tickets offered by Ryanair,” he said.
Ryanair Airlines quite often create controversy. Every year, the airline routinely circulate calendar with photos of sexy stewardess.
